Altadena Clean Air Day Celebration and Fair

Come to Altadena’s first Clean Air Day Celebration and Fair and learn how you can help clean the air in a fun and friendly environment on Saturday, October 5th from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Altadena Library, Community Room, 600 E. Mariposa St. in Altadena.

The Altadena Library, in partnership with Altadena Heritage, Altadenans for Clean, Healthy Air (CHA CHA),  and the Safe Streets Committee of the Altadena Town Council, is hosting this “power to the people” event.

See demonstrations and displays of alternatives to leaf blowers, alternatives to driving, and how planting trees can help clean the air. Become aware with speaker Shawn Maestretti – “Regeneration of the Landscape for Clean Air” and with representatives from non-profit organizations Day One and Citizens Climate Lobby and from governmental agencies Public Health, Public Works, South Coast Air Quality Management District, and Clean Air Power Alliance.

Making it fun for all will be raffles and prizes, refreshments, and special activities for children.  The down and dirty “Leafblowers Blues,” performed by Alta-Notes Boogie-Woogie Band, will kick off the festivities.

Take the Clear Air Pledge at cleanairday.org and enter code ALTA to make your pledge count toward Altadena Heritage’s commitment.
