Altadena Heritage’s Board of Directors is taking a summer hiatus, but we’ll continue to work on designing new programs and events for our members and the community.gardenbeauty

Potential offerings on the drawing board include an Altadena-themed “Story Slam” later this summer, and more monthly “Third Thursday” programs focusing on sustainability and other local topics in the fall. One program that’s already scheduled for October 15, in conjunction with the Altadena Library, will feature the story of local Latino hero Francisco Ramirez, who advocated for social and racial justice in the run-up to the Civil War. (See link below.) We’ll also be exploring venues for our Annual Meeting and Holiday Celebration to be held in December, so if you’ve got a suggestion, please let us know. See you in September!
