Golden Poppy Awards and Garden Party

Altadena Heritage has held garden parties ever since its inception in 1988. In 2004, the Golden Poppy Awards were added to the annual Spring/Summer garden party event. These awards recognize gardens that “present to the street,” enhancing the community for everyone. Each year, member of the AH Board of Directors drive all the streets of Altadena to photograph nominee gardens, and then meet to vote on the year’s best. Winners are invited to the Garden Party and presented a plaque to display in their gardens.
